Sober House Certification in Massachusetts

Through these grants, MASH addresses critical needs, including helping individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness find stable housing​. Search the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Living  (MASH) directory of all certified sober homes, which follow the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) standards and have been inspected. To support persons in recovery by improving their access to mash certified sober homes safe, stable residences with peer and community support. Our vision is adequate housing for all individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.

Community gatherings, recreational events and/or other social activities occur periodically. Documentation that residents are oriented to emergency procedures. We will open recovery homes in Rockland County to provide a safe, relaxing, enjoyable place to live, for people working at recovery from a SUD. A place they will be proud to call their home, enjoy taking care of and being responsible for. The organization has a Code of Ethics and Standards of Operation. 27.d Documentation that residents are formally linked with the community such as job search, education, family services, health and/or housing programs. MASH Certified Sober Homes

  • We were founded jointly by Vanderburgh House, an operator of sober houses in Massachusetts, and Vanderburgh Communities, an organization supporting sober living and recovery home operators.
  • Massachusetts offers many sober living homes and recovery residences for those in recovery from addiction.

  • Residents are required to continue their prescribed course of treatment including; 12-step participation, attend outpatient groups, and participate in lab urinalysis twice a week or upon request.
  • The support provided by sober home communities is combined with local clinical recovery support organizations to serve those in recovery from addiction.
  • Written permission from the property owner of record (if the owner is other than the sober home operator) to operate a sober home on the property.
